Mechanical Smile

Two guys and two girls from Ayrshire, Scotland, Mechanical Smile have a genuinely unique sound and image. Their music combines rock, pop and grunge to create a melodic and pulsating sound, giving them the reputation as one of Scotland's finest independent bands. Impressive festival appearances at Download and Slam Dunk, features in Rock Sound, FRONT and Kerrang! Magazine, as well as national press/airplay and a hometown headline sell-out at King Tuts under their belt, Mechanical Smile are a band with ambition and are heading in the right direction. Mechanical Smile’s self-released material to date is available from iTunes and all credible online retailers. After several local shows and tours of Scotland, the band embarked on their debut UK tour in Feb-April 2013, playing venues across Scotland, England and Wales. They toured Germany in 2012, and following an impressive 2011 German festival appearance, the band returned to IROCK festival in May 2013 where they played an exhilarating set to a capacity audience. The band completed an impressive 2nd UK tour in the summer of 2013 including their first London showcase. The tour included several festival appearances across the UK. Mechanical Smile have also secured an endorsement with To The Stage Clothing, an independent English clothing company.

Their newest release ‘Say Goodbye’, an eight track album showcasing the bands powerful anthemic sound came out in February this year, and was followed by their biggest tour to date, playing nineteen shows across the UK and Germany. The band finished the tour with an intimate hometown show playing to a packed crowd in Fanny By Gaslight, official ‘Say Goodbye Tour sponsors . Their music has been described as “A sound that's perfect for the radio, with the sort of driving rock anthems you don't get enough on mainstream outlets these days” (Jim Gellatly, Scottish Sun/In Demand Scotland). They have also been championed as "the best female-fronted rock band since The Cranberries." (Rick Fulton, Daily Record) and described as "Passionate, earnest, honest and incredibly hard-working, Mechanical Smile have the drive, support – and songs – to go places." (Katie P, Kerrang! Magazine/Radio)

With the experience of several credible support slots, sharing the stage with the likes of Fearless Vampire Killers, Stiff Little Fingers, Fighting With Wire, The LaFontaines, Fatherson, The Automatic, Xcerts and Kassidy, the Scottish 4 piece are ready for a busy rest of 2014 and beyond.
